The Team

Doug Foster started Nyack Boat Charter with Rob Bellanich in 2015. Doug is involved in all the business planning/management, and now is a licensed captain so can fill in when needed.

Doug has sailed his entire life, starting on his family’s Alberg 35 growing up. He was an elected official in Nyack for seven years, with a lot of focus repairing and renovating the marina and waterfront. Starting Nyack Boat Charter was a natural extension as a way to offer people the opportunity to get on the Hudson, connecting Nyack with the river.

Captain Kevin O’Donnell is a licensed 100 ton master captain and has sailed his whole life at the Nyack Boat Club, and knows every nook of the Tappan Zee.

Kevin has been the primary captain for NBC since it started, and in February 2020, became a full partner. Kevin is the primary manager of operations in addition to being the captain on most charters.

Kevin is the primary captain and wake instructor on our new Wake Sports charters.

Al is a licensed Master Captain. He knows this part of the Hudson like the back of his hand. He loves to take people out for all kinds of experiences, from tubing/boarding to just enjoying the sights.

Cameron is a local fitness professional that is well versed in board sports and head Fliteboard Instructor.

Captain Dave DeVries has deep experience and is a licensed captain both off-shore and inland.

Owen has sailed his whole life and has crewed sailing charters with us for several years.

Rob Bellanich co-founded Nyack Boat Charter, and owns and operates NY Boat Charter with his wife Lezlee Peterzell-Bellanich.

Starting Nyack Boat Charter was a natural fit for Doug and Rob.  It was a way to connect their experience and passion for sailing and chartering, and working to re-connect Nyack with the Hudson river.

Although Rob is no longer one of the owners, he is still a part of Nyack Boat Charter and always there to help.

Lezlee manages NY Boat Charter, and for the first several seasons, ran the bookings for private charters. She still helps out with marketing and leads.

We are excited to partner with Rudi for our Flite Boarding experience.

Rudi has started as a senior member of the Fliteboard team, heading up the USA operations. NBC is working closely with Rudi as we ramp up our Flite School.
